Policy makers across our state have recognized that improvements in our child mental health system are necessary. There are many efforts underway to improve practices through the provision of evidence-based treatments that have been proven to help children with a range of concerns. Despite the ongoing efforts to improve child mental/behavioral healthcare services, we continue to work to make system and policy improvements that will best help children and families in our state. In order for all children in our state to receive the best care, we need to work at the policy, systems and provider level to raise awareness, train and educate as well as support and facilitate the adoption and implementation of best practices. Quality assurance and ongoing technical assistance is also needed to ensure that our providers have the capacity to provide the best standards of care and that the services we do provide are examined to determine if they are truly helping children and families.
In this website, policy makers and providers will find resources and information on best and evidence-based practices in child mental health, and publications that provide the latest research and facts & figures on children’s mental health.
In addition, policy makers and providers may find it useful to link directly to the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) website, Connecticut’s Court Support Services Division website, Connecticut’s General Assembly website and Connecticut’s Behavioral Health Partnership website. |
