Behavior therapy can be just as effective as medicine for these children, and is an important component to the treatment of ADHD. Federal health experts are saying that parents should be trained in behavior therapy techniques in order to learn strategies can can improve their child’s behavior and keep their relationship with the child strong. The CDC is calling for healthcare providers to explain the benefits of behavior therapy to parents of children with ADHD, as well as encourage the parents to receive training if possible.
